I remember reading about that trial several years after it happened. I know that it was buried inside the NYT, so that people wouldn't know about it. I also remember my mother coming home from an exercise class on 4/4/68 and telling me that when the instructor announced MLK had been killed, one woman stood up and applauded. My mother was shocked, and I was too, at 13 years old.
